Gober is a behind-the-scenes lawyer for powerful Republicans. He ran the political money group for billionaire Elon Musk that spent more than $250 million to help elect Donald Trump in 2024. Last year he helped quietly redraw Texas's voting maps — then entered the race for one of the very seats those new maps created.
