Who Junior is
Junior Ezeonu was elected to Grand Prairie City Council at just 22 years old, becoming the youngest council member in the city's history — then five years later, at 27, he unseated eight-term Texas House veteran Chris Turner to win this seat.
About Junior
Ezeonu was born in Onitsha, Nigeria and moved to Texas as a toddler. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Texas at Arlington with a degree in political science, then won a Grand Prairie City Council seat in 2021 by beating a 12-year incumbent, and became the city's youngest-ever Mayor Pro Tem in 2025. In March 2026 he defeated longtime state representative and former House Democratic Caucus chair Chris Turner in the Democratic primary, and he faces no Republican opponent in November.
