About this office
It's very difficult for a case to reach the Supreme Court. So for most Texans who appeal — a custody ruling, a lawsuit, a conviction — the Court of Appeals is the last court that will ever hear it. Texas has 14 of these courts, each covering a share of the 254 counties, and Hays County's cases go to the 3rd Court of Appeals in Austin. The Chief Justice runs that court — and this year the seat is on your ballot.

Amanda ReichekShe already served on this exact court, winning a seat on the Fifth Court of Appeals in 2018 before losing re-election in 2024, and now she's running to get her old bench back.
About Amanda
Reichek grew up in Houston and studied sociology before earning her law degree from Texas Tech in 2003. She practiced as an attorney at firms including Waters & Kraus and Cole Reichek, then served as a justice on the Fifth Court of Appeals (Place 10) from January 2019 to December 2024. She also ran for a seat on the Texas Supreme Court in 2022.
Matthew KolodoskiHe's a Dallas litigation attorney who has spent his career arguing cases through trial and appeals courts across Texas, and now he wants to be the judge deciding those appeals instead of arguing them.
