Your State Representative is one of 150 people who write Texas law, and yours is elected to represent your area of Hays County. Every two years they decide how much money your kids' school gets, whether your property tax bill goes up or down, and whether Texas takes federal money for health care or turns it away. Ben MostynMostyn is a U.S. Army veteran and Department of Defense-certified master instructor who also works as a Realtor and small business owner in San Antonio.

He ran for this same seat in 2024 and lost to Cortez in the general election; he is running again in 2026.
Philip CortezCortez is an Air Force veteran who served 20 years and retired as a Captain, and holds a Ph.D. in educational administration from UT Austin.

He is running for a sixth term representing Southside and West Bexar County, after first winning the seat in 2012.
