Drew DarbyDarby has represented San Angelo and eight surrounding West Texas counties in the Texas House since 2007, and in 2025 he cast the deciding vote to move Texas's private-school voucher program forward even after calling himself "deeply skeptical" of it.

He carries an "A" rating from the NRA and backed the state's near-total abortion ban, including the six-week ban and the trigger law that took effect after Roe was overturned.
Shiloh SalazarSalazar spent five years as a federal-level advocate on Medicaid and early-childhood programs before running for this West Texas seat, calling for Texas to expand Medicaid to help stabilize struggling rural hospitals.
