About Evan
Hunt is a retired U.S. Air Force lieutenant colonel and combat aviator who later worked as a defense-industry executive. He's lived in McKinney for about six years, where his kids attend public school, and he's running against longtime incumbent Keith Self in Texas's 3rd District.
Keith SelfBefore Congress, Keith Self served in the Army and later ran Collin County government as County Judge, where he cut the property tax rate by nearly 30 percent.

Self is the incumbent U.S. Representative for Texas's 3rd District, first elected in 2022, and previously served as Collin County Judge. He's a member of the House Freedom Caucus and chairs a Foreign Affairs subcommittee, and he's running for re-election on a platform of cutting government spending, border security, and gun rights.
