Your State Representative is one of 150 people who write Texas law, and yours is elected to represent your area of Hays County. Every two years they decide how much money your kids' school gets, whether your property tax bill goes up or down, and whether Texas takes federal money for health care or turns it away. Mark DorazioFirst elected in 2022, he previously chaired the Republican Party of Bexar County and runs a construction company with his wife that works for power companies.
About Mark
He is one of the House's most conservative members and co-sponsored the 2025 school voucher law (SB 2), which he says gives parents an extra option for kids with unmet learning needs.
Shelly NickelsA hospitalist physician in San Antonio since 2014, she became the youngest medical director at Methodist Hospital, overseeing the largest hospitalist group in the state.
