Texas is divided into 38 areas called districts, each with about 800,000 people. Every two years your district elects one U.S. Representative — one of 435 in Washington, and the only one who answers to you. They vote on laws that touch your health care, your taxes and your rights.

Kyle RableKyle Rable worked full-time in restaurants and kitchens while earning his degrees, and he's a captain in the U.S. Army Reserves.
About Kyle
Rable is a Lubbock Democrat and Texas Tech PhD candidate who previously served as secretary of the Lubbock County Democratic Party. He grew up in a family of working-class people and immigrants, and he's running to represent West Texas workers and family farmers he says both parties have overlooked.
Tom SellTom Sell's family came to Lubbock as sharecroppers in 1906, and he's now a fifth-generation West Texan running to represent the same land.
About Tom
Sell is a Lubbock attorney and businessman who worked in Congress in the late 1990s and early 2000s as deputy staff director for the House Agriculture Committee under former Rep. Larry Combest. He's running to replace retiring Rep. Jodey Arrington, focusing his campaign on agriculture, trade deals for cotton growers, and the Farm Bill.
